Devon Hornby is the director of Tao Health Center
and the senior instructor in qigong anma, manual rehabilitation
therapy, tai
chi, qigong
and the healing arts. His goal as the director of the Center is to
foster an environment that encourages personal growth and the realization
of optimal human potential.
Devon teaches advanced classes and seminars in
healing and health practices, qigong anma,
manual rehabilitation
therapy, tai
chi, and qigong. He also
has a flourishing healing and bodywork practice and provides personalized
lifestyle coaching for improved health and wellbeing.
Devon is a licensed massage therapist and a highly
regarded healing arts practitioner. He has been practicing the healing
arts for over fifteen years. Devon’s
practice of bodywork is founded in his many years of experience in a
variety of healing arts. He has trained in a number of Asian bodywork
therapies and is chief instructor of qigong anma
and manual rehabilitation
therapy at the Center. Devon
specializes in rehabilitation and pain relief.
Devon has been practicing the martial arts for
thirty years. He has devoted the last fifteen years to the practice and
study of tai chi and qigong. Devon is
dedicated to promoting a lifestyle that is in accord with the universal
principles of integrity, inner strength and personal transformation. Devon teaches the practices of Integral
Chuan at the center and is the co-founder of Integral Chuan Austin.
Devon gained his undergraduate degree of the University
of Toronto and went on to study
at the Institute
of Traditional Chinese Medicine
under Dr. David Lam. He is a student of Sifu Fong Ha one of the worlds
great masters of Taijiquan (Tai Chi) and
Yiquan. Devon has also studied
meditation and qigong under a number of renowned Tibetan masters
including the Venerable Khandro Rinpoche, Sakyong Mipham and Khenpo Tsultrim Gyatso.
Devon has studied with a number of great teachers
over the years including masters of qigong, meditation, healing, and
martial arts. He synthesizes the essence of what he has learned in a
practical and straightforward manner. He emphasizes practicality and
functionality so that what he teaches can be applied in one’s daily life
to improve health, foster wellbeing and achieve one’s full potential.
