INTEGRAL
CHUAN:
TAI
CHI, QIGONG, YIQUAN AND MEDITATION
Tao Health
Center is committed to providing
resources for those who wish to improve their health and maintain their
wellbeing. The Center offers
ongoing classes in Integral Chuan, tai chi and qigong as well as seminars
and workshops in health and healing. These practices are based on the
concept of Qi (vital energy). By improving the
flow of Qi through our bodies we allow
ourselves to connect to Universal Qi. This
connection is the basis of true health and wellbeing. Connection to
Universal Qi brings with it a profound sense of
integrity, deep relaxation and bountiful energy.
The teachings at the Center are oriented by the
Chinese philosophy of the three treasures
essence, energy and spirit. These
principles are reflected in our commitment to strength, wellbeing and
transformation. more

The teacher, Devon Hornby, draws on over thirty
years of experience in the martial and healing arts to provide practical
and functional tools for personal growth and transformation. Devon has studied under numerous internal gongfu and qigong teachers and currently
studies with and teaches under the authority of Sifu Fong Ha and is one
of the founders of Integral Chuan Austin.
TAI CHI
The Center offers tai chi and qigong classes on
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 to 1:30pm. Tai chi is famous as a means of exercise,
relaxation and meditation. More than just a series of movements, tai chi
is a way using our bodies which is at the same time relaxed and powerful.
The Center’s tai chi classes focus on establishing integrated strength
and central equilibrium. Integrated strength allows us to carryout our
daily activities with power, grace and mindfulness. Central equilibrium
is a state of balance which goes far beyond the physical. more
MEDITATION
In the stress of our daily lives it is vitally important
that we have a place inside of us where calm prevails. We cannot depend
on our environment to provide peace and this is not necessary if we can
connect to the peace that lies within us. Meditation provides the ability
to access calm at any time and in any situation. Meditation is an
important part of all of the qi healing, tai
chi, qigong and integral chuan classes taught at the Center.
YIQUAN
A profound development in Asian healing and
martial arts, yiquan fosters profound strength and an unwavering sense of
wellbeing. Based on the practice of standing meditation yiquan is simple,
easy to learn and provides a lifetime of personal growth and
transformation.
“Yiquan is the return to that unadulterated
state in which no disease can exist, no attacker can assail, and through
which the beauty of life can shine.” more
QIGONG
The practice of Qigong concerns itself with
freeing the flow of qi (vital energy) in the
body. Qigong practices include standing and movement exercises, meridian
yoga, and meditation. Qigong is a profound means of fostering a sense of
peace and harmony within that radiates out into our world benefiting both
ourselves and others. more
INTEGRAL
CHUAN
Integral chuan is a form of internal gongfu. It is an artful blend of tai chi,
meditation, yiquan and qigong taught by Sifu Fong Ha. These highly
revered Chinese arts foster profound levels of strength, well-being and
personal transformation. The integral chuan classes at the Center provide
simple and effective tools for achieving one’s goals of health and
happiness. The classes are fun, challenging and above all rewarding. The
Integral Chuan curriculum is currently being presented in our Tuesday and
Thursday Tai Chi classes.
We also host regular workshops taught by Fong
Ha. For more information check our seminars page.
