Qigong

Qigong, pronounced chee gung, is an ancient art of health preservation, energy cultivation and personal transformation. Qigong literally means energy skill and is used to denote any form of exercise or meditation that has this as its purpose.

The benefits of qigong are diverse. The forms taught at the Center aim to increase a person’s sense of well being, promote optimal health and longevity, reduce stress, increase strength and flexibility and provide a means for personal growth and transformation.

Qigong is similar to yoga in that it often has a focus on the breath and mental concentration. It differs in its diversity of methods and results. Ranging from vigorous aerobic workouts to contemplative seated practices there is literally a form of qigong to suit anyone’s needs.

There are many forms of qigong taught at the Center. Most important among these are Yi Jin Jing, Wu Xing Qigong, Dayan Qigong and Ba Duan Jin. If you are interested in studying a particular type of qigong or just want to know more please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sun S’u Mo

Most of the qigong taught at the Center is taught by Devon. He brings over thirty years of experience in the martial and healing arts together to teach practical and effective technique.

Qigong is an important part of our qi healing circle, integral chuan curriculum, tai chi classes and qigong anma workshops. The Center also offers workshops and ongoing classes in specific forms of qigong. For more information on upcoming classes visit our seminars page. Most of the qigong workshops and classes offered at the Center are applicable towards CEUs for massage therapists in the state of Texas.

Tao Health Center offers courses in Qigong Anma which is a form of body work similar to shiatsu and Thai yoga massage which is a means of doing qigong on and with another person. There are also classes in qigong lifestyle and Asian health and longevity practices. Please check our seminars page for more information.
